MONARCH MANIA

Monarch Mania was more fun than I ever dreamed even though rain swept us into the Cobb Island Firehouse instead of Old Fisherman's field. John and I helped "kids of all ages" make Monarch butterfly nose masks and I signed my books. It was a great event for families. Everyone learned how to tag Monarch butterflies to help track them during their amazing migration! Mike Callahan released the tagged butterflies the following day when the sun came out again!

"FIRST FRIDAY"

at Port Tobacco Courthouse in September celebrated the 100th anniversary of the Charles County Public Schools. I demonstrated old crafts, including some from The Yarn Animal Book. Old-fashioned bookmarks were the special free gift and everyone had an opportunity to work on making an old-fashioned pompom and a super-fast modern pompom to take home. Autographed copies of my books were available.
